Department of Public Experimental Teaching – Computer Fundamentals Teaching and Experiment Center
Project Overview
The Computer Fundamentals Teaching and Experiment Center at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics supports university-wide computer education, online examinations, enterprise training, and academic competitions.
Facing limited administrative staff and increasingly diverse teaching requirements, the center needed to reduce manual operations, improve examination preparation and fault reporting, and gain better visibility into laboratory and equipment utilization.
By deploying 2,000+ LISS endpoint licenses and integrating the platform with the university’s unified identity authentication and course schedule systems, NUAA established a more automated and data-driven computer lab management environment.
User Requirements
| OPERATIONS Automated Lab Operations Batch startup and shutdown, automatic system login, remote application launching, examination environment preparation, and user-friendly shutdown notifications. | ANALYTICS Comprehensive Data Collection Collect device status, student activity, course usage, software usage, and laboratory utilization data to support teaching analysis and resource optimization. | |
| STUDENT SERVICES Student-Friendly Management Integrate safety examinations into the login process, simplify fault reporting, and optimize scheduling based on student usage patterns. | REPORTING Operational Reporting Provide reliable data for weekly, monthly, and annual reports covering laboratory usage, device utilization, student activity, and operational workload. | |
| PLANNING Resource Evaluation Analyze laboratory utilization across different time periods to support course planning, teaching optimization, and future infrastructure investment. | ||
Solution
| 01 Automated Endpoint Management Supports scheduled startup and shutdown, automatic system login, remote command execution, application launching, and user-friendly shutdown notifications, significantly reducing repetitive administrative work. | 02 Comprehensive Usage Analytics Automatically collects device status, student login duration, course activity, software usage, laboratory occupancy, and utilization data across different time periods. | |
| 03 Examination & Compliance Management Integrates safety examinations into the student login process. Students complete the required assessment before using laboratory devices, improving compliance education coverage. | 04 Student-Assisted Fault Reporting Students can quickly report specific device issues such as startup failures, keyboard problems, or mouse faults, helping administrators identify and resolve problems more efficiently. | |
| 05 Centralized Reporting & Analysis Centralizes laboratory usage, device utilization, student activity, and software usage data to provide a reliable source for weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports. | 06 Data-Driven Teaching Support Detailed usage data can be exported for further analysis, providing a reliable basis for course scheduling, teaching research, resource optimization, and infrastructure planning. | |
Customer Value
| Higher Operational Efficiency Automated endpoint management replaces repetitive manual operations, enabling efficient laboratory operation even with limited administrative staff. | Data-Driven Decision-Making Real laboratory usage and utilization data provide a reliable basis for resource planning, scheduling optimization, and future infrastructure investment. | Improved Student Experience Simplified fault reporting and scheduling based on real usage patterns improve laboratory accessibility and overall service quality. | ||
| Enhanced Compliance Management Integrated safety examinations improve the implementation and coverage of student compliance education. | Quantifiable Operational Value Centralized data makes laboratory workload, usage, and equipment utilization measurable, helping the center clearly demonstrate its operational value. | Continuous Teaching Optimization Multi-dimensional usage data provides long-term support for teaching research, course optimization, and more precise resource allocation. | ||
